How to Solve the Challenges of HighRise Curtain Wall Cleaning? CloudWalker Robotics Empowers Industry Innovation With Numerous Deployed Projects

Starting from May 1, 2026, the Beijing Municipality Regulations on the Administration of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles came into force. The entire administrative area of Beijing is designated as a controlled airspace for unmanned aerial vehicles, and no outdoor flight activities may be carried out without approval. Meanwhile, Beijing has imposed strict restrictions on the sale, transportation and storage of UAVs. Under the triple controls of “no-flight, no-sale and no-transport”, previous cleaning and exterior-wall inspection operations relying on UAVs have been suspended.

Despite tightening policies, the objective demand for building exterior-wall cleaning remains. As cleaning UAVs are grounded, traditional high-altitude cleaning operations also suffer from multiple pain points including high safety risks, labor shortages, and efficiency susceptible to weather conditions. The high-altitude cleaning industry calls for new solutions — and CloudWalker Robotics is answering this call.

Breakthrough in Typical Project: Tackling the Dilemma of Concave Curtain Wall Cleaning

The New Campus of the National Judges College is located in Huaxiang, Fengtai District, Beijing. Officially put into use in 2015, it covers an area of 248 mu with a construction floor area of nearly 60,000 square meters. Its building facade features concave glass curtain walls which pose great cleaning difficulties. Conventional suspension anchor points are unavailable for concave glass surfaces, making traditional cleaning equipment inaccessible. Human workers performing high-altitude operations struggle to find stable footholds.

This long-standing cleaning challenge was finally addressed with the deployment of CloudWalker Robotics. Leveraging its bionic wheel-leg structure and coaxial dual propellers for stable wall attachment, CloudWalker Robotics successfully completed the first-time deep cleaning of the concave wall sections with limited operating space and no regular suspension anchor points.

Upon project acceptance, officials from the college expressed great satisfaction with the cleaning results: “Only CloudWalker Robotics can perform suspension-mounted operations and clean areas unreachable by alternative solutions.”

Highlighted Technical Advantages: Feasibility Verified by Benchmark Projects Across Diverse Business Formats

Over the past two years, CloudWalker Robotics has implemented more than 500 projects in over 18 provinces and municipalities nationwide, with cumulative operating area exceeding 6 million square meters. All projects have maintained a record of zero safety incidents and 100% acceptance rate.

In North China, CloudWalker Robotics has delivered high-standard projects for various building types, including landmark sites such as the Capital Museum, JD Headquarters, Chaowai SOHO and Alt Automotive Technology Industrial Park. The service scenarios cover public cultural venues, corporate headquarters, commercial office buildings and government-affiliated campuses. The robot adapts to diverse building structures and curtain-wall materials, continuously proving its project-delivery competence across varied scenarios.

Such diversified project coverage demonstrates CloudWalker’s robust solution-delivery capacity. A single CloudWalker robot can clean 1,500–2,000 square meters per working day, capable of operating at heights of over 200 meters with wind resistance up to Grade 6. By comparison, traditional manual high-altitude cleaning achieves merely 300–500 square meters per day, heavily constrained by weather and lighting conditions. The robot delivers 3–5 times higher efficiency than conventional methods. More importantly, the whole operation keeps workers on the ground rather than suspending them at high altitudes, fundamentally eliminating fall-from-height risks.

The Inevitable Trend of Industrial Transformation: Intelligent Cleaning Opens a Brand-New Track

Against the backdrop of strict airspace regulations in Beijing and continuously upgraded industrial safety standards, intelligent cleaning solutions featuring compliance, safety and high efficiency have become an inevitable trend for industry transformation. CloudWalker Robotics is not the only option, yet it is one widely validated by the market. Figures including projects in more than 18 provinces and municipalities and zero safety accidents speak not merely of scale, but of reliability.

As building facades get cleaned one after another, and clients shift from “giving it a try” to “project acceptance passed”, this represents more than technical upgrading — it marks a fundamental shift in how high-altitude cleaning is conducted.

CloudWalker Robotics is revolutionizing traditional high-altitude operation modes through technological innovation. Operators stay on the ground while robots take on high-rise tasks. A brand-new transformation for the high-altitude curtain-wall cleaning industry is quietly unfolding.
